Dr. Katherine Hoadley is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research interests include integrative genomic analyses to better understand cancer, particularly the aggressive basal-like subtype of breast cancer. She is one of the lead scientists for gene expression-based analyses and oversees UNC’s RNA sequencing contribution to The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Project. She helped lead TCGA’s effort to genomically characterize breast cancer (Nature 2012). In addition, Dr. Hoadley is involved in several other large international genomics projects including the International Cancer Genomics Consortium. Dr. Hoadley received her PhD in 2006 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the laboratory of Dr. Charles Perou.
